Wire can be unpredictable, “wirey” and in need of some firm direction! Most of all, for me, it teaches patience, a kind of meditation and a new outlet for creativity. Working with patinas gives wire a different look, teaches one how to work with liver of sulpher and other patina materials. I’m enjoying working with shapes, learning weaving techniques (some taken from textile weaving) and what I can do with wire generally. If you happen to be visiting Anacortes, check in with Anacortes Beads to see if I’ll be teaching a wire weaving or wire wrapping class as I’d love to see you in class! |
