Firelight Designs is about teaching and mentoring others. Our students include hobbyists, jewelry artists, artisans wanting to add wire and metal working to their toolbox of art skills. Fun and educational, our classes teach students not just about jewelry making but also designing, ways to
                      create, color, and more.

Firelight Designs COVID 19 protocol at the Studio - Every effort will be made to adhere to COVID safety requirements in effect at the time of class. Currently the protocols are:

• Wearing a mask is mandatory in the Studio
• Distancing of 6' between work spaces
• Regular sanitizing practices for bathroom and public areas (hand sanitizer available)
  
• Each student to use a set of tools, without sharing, that are disinfected at the end of each session
  
• Use is limited to 25% of capacity
• Windows and doors will remain open when possible 
• Those who are not feeling well are prohibited from attending

Exploring Cold Connections

Let's explore ways to connect metal without soldering or using heat. There are basically seven ways to cold connect metal. In this workshop we will talk about, and try many of these options. First, practice cold connections with copper and brass. Second, create a piece of jewelry using cold connections. Because this is a technique focused class, you may not finish your project in class. Cold connections provide great jewelry making options, and the techniques can be incorporated in projects involving canvas, fabric, enameling, assemblage, etc. COVID 19 protocols will be followed in the Studio. Spinner Rings
THIS CLASS BEING RESCHEDULED

   Spinner Ring – A spinner ring is also called a meditation ring, and is made of a metal band (usually sterling silver) around a finger with smaller decorated rings (sometimes copper or brass) against the metal band that spin around. Our ring bands will be made from sterling silver and the spinner rings will be copper, brass or both! Due to the techniques used in making the ring, this class will be limited to 4 students.  All supplies to make the ring and all tools will be provided at class.

PNW Artisans Marketplace

When: April 1 - 25, 2021
Where: The Big Red Barn
              14285 La Conner-Whitney Road
              Mount Vernon, WA 98273
 Hours: 10 am - 6 pm every day during the show
              Firelight Designs is excited to be a part of this experience during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Make sure the Big Red Barn is a stop on your Tulip Festival tour. The show will be packed with unique work by local artisans - you must see it ALL! There will be a central check-out area, artists will not be in their booths. PNW will adhere to WA state's COVID-19 protocols and guidelines in effect during the dates of this event.
