New Website, What New Website?

Why have a new website, what is wrong with the current website? Every once in a while, like life, you have to hit the “refresh” button. Sometimes we are caught up in too many details, things get too “wordy”, maybe even too colorful. People change and so do businesses. To reflect a feeling of “lightness of being”, my new Firelight Designs website has been born. Full disclosure – I did not happen upon my new website on my own, a very engagingly creative website designer – Devon LeBoutillier – helped me see the light of what my website could be!

Old Website

I did not have a new website in mind at all when I had first asked Devon for development of better SEO (search engine optimization) on my website. Once she took a look-see at what was going on, she suggested creating a new and less formal website. She had some ideas. I had a lot invested in my website, with some assistance I had pretty much designed it and had been updating it and tweaking it for a couple of years all by myself. I was proud of that. And, by the way, that is how my SEO became messed up.

New Website

Human nature is to resist change, and that is what I did. But website designer extraordinaire Devon suggested some interesting design idea changes and before long I was hooked. Okay, let's do this! Then she suggested buying other domain names and hooking them all together. I had heard of doing that but never thought I would have occasion to make that happen. Okay, I'm in!

Upon reflection, maybe I'm too “boxy”, maybe my (old) website reflected too much thinking inside of the box! Even though my website had received compliments, it was time to think and reach outside of the box!

And so I did, with a little help. Firelight Designs' new and improved website shows dancing dragonflies, a white background, less words, and my jewelry and paintings now dance with their own colors. My online website store is ready for you to find the perfect one of a kind jewelry or painting, or contact me to create the piece you envision. The Events Page lets you know where I will be showing my work. And in future Blog posts you will find my artistic musings on life, creativity, color and whatever is artistically on my mind at the time.

In the meantime, be creative in life, on the mat, in front of a canvas, sketch pad, camera, or wherever your creativity takes you!
